ONE STEP CLOSER TO A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

The Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport, managed by EGC AERO — a joint entity owned 55% by the Dordogne Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and 45% by Egis — is proud to announce that it has achieved Level 3 certification in the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program by the Airport Council International (ACI), an internationally recognized initiative. This accreditation highlights the airport’s active efforts to reduce its carbon footprint in collaboration with local and regional stakeholders.

Concrete Initiatives to Reduce Emissions

The airport has implemented innovative solutions to limit carbon emissions:

  • Renewable Energy: Installation of photovoltaic canopies over parking areas and a 16-hectare solar power plant producing 18,130 MWh annually (equivalent to the electricity consumption of 6,044 households).
  • Electric Refueling: Deployment of an electric refueling truck in partnership with World Fuel Services.
  • Energy Optimization: Replacement of traditional lighting with LED systems and improvement of heating systems.
  • Ground Emission Reductions: Use of Ground Power Units (GPU) to minimize reliance on aircraft auxiliary power units.

Commitment to Biodiversity and Local Communities

The airport is also actively involved in:

Towards New Carbon Goals

Building on this success, the Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport aims to achieve Level 4 in the ACA program in the near future.
